Some scammer, spammer or unethical business man might get ahead right now, but they can never succeed in the long run.
The man that wants to win the market (or war.. ahem..) understands that conformity to existing standards will drown him out and make him just like the others: bland, ordinary and to be forgotten.
The biggest upsides are made when you step-up the game.
The temptation to follow suit and be like everyone else is high, but you must not succumb. I have found out that men that cultivated the strength to be principled always win in the longer term.
Like that old saying: “If everybody started jumping off a cliff… would you follow suit?”.
