Re: The blindest and the lamest

My Dad sent in his response to the #TMP edition titled: The blindest and the lamest:

Surely there is no substitute for sound education – it does not hinder vision, it activates it! It’s an insurance against blindness & lameness!

In the initial post, I might have implied that education is not important, but that was not my intention.

Education plays a huge role in achieving a vision. Without proper education, we can rarely convert the virtual image in our head into reality. If you have visions of building bridges but refuse to get trained as a civil engineer, you are not likely going to get any bridges built.

You can build out the “Alligator” version of your vision or get stuck with the “Lizard” version which you cannot take further due to the fact that you lack the information to get ahead.

However, to think that education in itself would give you a vision for your life is wishful thinking. Education does not offer you what to do, it only helps you become better at how to get things done. This is why it is possible to acquire so many universities degrees and still for all intents and purposes be blind and lame.
