The best thing about the future is that it creeps up upon us a day at a time.
Slowly, but steadily and consistently, the future marches forward bravely. We have to take heed not to slack up and mix things up. Forget all the dumb time travel movies and concepts you have seen; the future is not going on simultaneously somewhere else, the future is the total sum of all the efforts you put in or did not put in.
This is why you have to work on your ideas every single day.
If you really want your vision of becoming a global player in your chosen industry in 10 years time to become a reality, you do not slack off and say 10 years is such a long time away because it is no longer 10 years away, it becomes 9 years and 364 days away. It is plenty of time until the day you wake up and discover you have just 4 years and 357 days left.
A lot of people’s goals are always conveniently set “in the next 3-5 years time” which is a vague timing that cannot spur anybody to work. Ready or not, the future is creeping up upon you, one day at a time.
