The jokers will inherit the world

One of the many reactions to the post titled “Billionaires do not emerge from the vacuum, here is how they emerge” is that I am a joker. It is just not possible for you to become a billionaire in Nigeria, no matter how solid your innovative ideas are.

The full reaction:

“You are a joker! With the overwhelming presence of the thieving oligarchy in Nigeria, even the best business ideas and innovations wouldn’t make you a billionaire. You can ask Alhaji Aliko Dangote, he understands better. The Nigerian business environment is troublesome and hopelessly corrupt – “connections” and cronyism rules.”

Normally, I do not feed trolls, but I decided to discuss this because I know some of my real loyal readers might also have such thoughts nagging them at the back of the mind.

I remember the words of Steve Jobs that “those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do”. Which means being labelled a joker is certainly kind on the part of the critic. Crazy, mad or related words might have been better suited.

However, we must all remember that whether you think YOU CAN or you think YOU CANNOT get it done, either ways you are correct.

Steve Jobs and Apple where completely crazy for even thinking they could compete against IBM and actually win.

History is filled with stories of incumbents, cabals and people that got unseated when a new wave of people appeared on the scene. It happened in U.S.A. and other parts of the developed world, Nigeria cannot be an exception.

The establishment in Nigeria has made it obvious that they have nothing to offer, will the actions of the few of them now be allowed to decide the fate of the whole country? Definitely not.

I believe that power belongs to those who are bold enough to take it.

The most important thing you need to do is to destroy that your grasshopper mind and begin to cultivate the heart of a giant-killer. You need to develop some thick skin if you will survive the game I am calling you out to play.

It is the crazy ones, the jokers that actually turn the game around, against all odds.

The future belongs to the jokers and not the sane people who have been told since their birth to play nice and fit into the mold the society prepared for them without even thinking about it.

We need more jokers.
