You might not need $1, 000, 000 or 200 people to move your project from idea phase into reality. But you must ensure that the idea is clear, completely formed in your mind before you proceed.
There are some tasks that cannot be really delegated, some tasks that your think tank cannot help you out with, and that includes the task of thinking through your original idea until you can streamline it into a workable plan. A visioner has to do the mental labour of sitting down to think through the idea, mulling over every aspect of the idea until it becomes clear and you can draw up a plan.
Too many people have taken action to act upon their brilliant ideas too early, and they also exposed the idea to others too early. Once you do that, others inject their own thoughts into the idea so that at the end of the day, you know within your heart that your idea has somehow lost its identity and it is now in a mess.
A friend of mine related her ordeal of how her book club idea ended the very day she called the first meeting with her team. Her team members started injecting all sort of ridiculous elements into the mix until the while thing fell apart and the dream died.
Do not attempt to execute an unclear idea
Do not hold “team” meetings to discuss an idea you are not yet totally clear about
When you engage experts to help you with thinking through your idea, do so cautiously. They are experts in their own fields, they are not experts in your idea.
Do not risk your time and savings on your brilliant but unclear idea. Get it right at the initial stage and execution will much easier to do.
