I don’t.
Infact, I cannot really remember the last time I used Yahoo Messenger! I check my Yahoo email account just enough to keep it active. When you look back and realise that Yahoo! was the #1 Internet company back then, you cannot help but shed a tear.
Shed a tear? Of course not.
Yahoo! is not the first world power to rise and then crush. Empires come and go, that is a fact of life, before Yahoo! came into the global limelight, we had AOL, which nobody even talks about anymore and did you know MySpace.com is still online??
So, what is my point? All the giants we see today, from Facebook to Google search to Windows will eventually get knocked off their perch. As the world evolves and becomes more mobile, many newer and brilliant ideas have emerged and everyone is on their toes. As to what the future holds, no one knows.
We are completely clueless as to what tomorrow’s social networks will look like or how it will work, we do not know what fuel tomorrow’s cars will use or even if they will use fuel at all. In another 5 years, I could be writing on #TMP any of the following:
Do you still Facebook?
Do you still Google?
Do you still drive a petrol-fueled car? (Jeez!)
Today is not forever.
