The inveterate schemer (Checkpoint 2016)

I am an inveterate schemer. I’m always scheming something…

I want to help people become the best version of themselves, that is the mission. In order to achieve this, I build powerful solutions that greatly enhances how people live, work and play. I also do a lot of teaching, training and rigorous discipleship.

That is why I scheme and scheme and just continue to scheme. I design the schemes and settle down to work them out, brick-by-brick. I have a strong and powerful ally; The Almighty God that backs me up to fire ahead and this is why I am assured of a successful outcome.

Once you have found out what you would like to spend your life doing, you must re-organise your life around your life’s mission and then begin to execute. All the stars will not align, a farmer that keeps observing the weather will never set out to begin to actually sow.

The most important thing happening on November 8 every year is my birthday. This is the day my life’s mission started many years ago. I always get to answer 3 questions:

  1. What is my life’s mission?
  2. How is it going?
  3. What are the goals for the new year?

How is it going?

The last 365 days have been very productive. I made a lot of remarkable progress on major fronts of my life. I applied every productivity tweak and trick I could find in order to get more out of my 24 hours with varying results.

My current schedule is just… crazy. I will give you an hint: it involves going to sleep at 12 noon and punching in codes on my computer at 11PM when the rest of the world sleeps…. like I said, crazy!

The increased productivity I achieved by optimising my schedule and delegating more work to my incredible team made a lot of wonderful things happen.

I was able to kick-off the Digital Jobs for Ikere-Ekiti Youths Initiative this year, and you may have heard that Gistcaster is back online, or that we also finally finished work on the online mall, Kowope.com, a project that has been on my mind since 2011! We also made some wonderful progress towards assembling The Qahal.

OneCrier, YangaExpress are still not operational, but like I said last year, I know they wont die. Maybe we will get to do something about them this time around.

What are the goals for the new year?

I cannot stop scheming and work hard to execute the schemes I devise. Push hard and take all initiatives to the next level, grabbing major chunks of the marketplaces we are playing in.  The GYB Nigeria initiative is the one to watch out for as a major shift in operations begins now.

The Digital Jobs for Ikere-Ekiti Youths is looking good, I want to see if I can train up to 100 youths and have about 1, 000 youths attend our general programmes over the course of the next year.

I also want to work hard on Gistcaster this year, and build it up to a level whereby I will be able to take on external investors and partners to collaborate on the vision. Unlike other initiatives, Gistcaster cannot really live up to its full potentials unless we open it up and take investment.

This new year, I must continue to tweak and tinker until I attain my dream productivity targets: I am taking a clue from Thomas Edison who promised to turn out “a minor invention every 10 days and a big thing every six months or so”. I also want to work towards producing an innovation every 30 days: an app, a mini-book or a new initiative. I am promising a bigger innovation or initiative or book every 3 months. And every 6 months: I’m promising a BIG DEAL.

So, I just need to push, push and push! I am confident that the profiting will soon be obvious to the whole world.

Moving mountains is not a child’s play, but I will not backslide and resort to kicking stones and molehills instead. I want to work out real miracles.

I push, hard. “They” won’t let me have it easy and so, “they” push back harder. But I will never back down from my quest. I will never give up.

So, here is to the next 365 days…..

I am Ade – kankun – mola – nrewaju, son of Olanrewaju Morebise

Happy Birthday to me! The Inveterate Schemer!
