In the modern world, the old time honoured traditions of keeping life and work separate no longer hold.
Work files are no longer left in the office. They are now a click away.
It would nowadays seem rude to leave emails received “after work hours” on friday unanswered until monday morning.
We now expect ATM machines to be available for 24hrs everyday, without exceptions. I would certainly be disappointed if I can’t use the ATM during public holidays.
The work never ends, we are never truly on vacation any more.
Work-Life balance is dead. We should be talking about Work-life integration now. That’s just the way it is.
