ICT tools have increased our productivity by making things work better, easier and faster. This is why acquiring ICT skills is a very smart thing to do, probably the smartest thing to do. (ICT actually means Information Communication Technology)
I firmly believe that these days, anybody smart enough to figure out how a computer works can also make a decent living out of it.
When we talk about skill acquisition, I think it is best to acquire to ICT skills as opposed to non-ICT skills. Non-ICT skills are cool, we have to eat, wear beautiful beads and clothes but for the person optimizing herself for the future, ICT is the way to go.
ICT cuts across virtually every field out there. It is redefining the nature of what we call work. And sure enough, computers are now inventing new types of food (you should google “IBM Watson cooking“), designing clothes and when 3D printing technology matures enough, we will design and print our clothes ourselves the same way we print our documents today!
If you had the chance now to choose whether to get ready to help people design and print their clothes or do it the old way, which would you choose??
ICT is very vast and broad, as such there is practically NO LIMIT to its applications.
YOU CAN NEVER GET TO THE PEAK OF YOUR CHOSEN CAREERS WITHOUT EMBRACING ICT
