“You only build value in a company if you are doing hard work to solve tough problems” – Elon Musk
I thought about it and concluded that one way to really remain relevant and continuously generate value in a business is by trying to solve tough problems.
The bigger the problems you solve, the higher the premium you can place upon your solutions.
Tackling the tougher problems is not something lazy people want to do and as such you will probably not have too many competitors. When you turn up at our door and you are the 35th or 86th provider of the same service, you simply become a commodity.
Look for how you can climb the ladder. Climbing to higher ground.
We cannot continue playing in the mud: launching yet another secondary school or pure water factory or events center or fashion school or web design studio or social network.
We can start small and as such, we will be able to understand our customers very well before we scale up, but our mind should be upon the tough problems we are looking at solving.
