How far is too far?

Some things I find interesting about running a business: in as much as you are looking for customers, some customers are simply bad market and ought to be dumped. In as much as you need people to work with you, some staff and partners can drive you nuts.

How far is too far?

When do we decide we have had enough and so decide to sever ties? What about that fear of missing out on something huge down the road?

I find it helpful to first try and look from their own viewpoint. I happen to know first-hand that it is totally possible to piss people off without you knowing, and even with good intentions. So, try and understand their viewpoint – why are they acting this way.

After digging into their viewpoint, if we can’t reconcile and work well together, it is time to pull the plug. Better sooner than later. Oh, and once you sever ties, do not leave room for regret or second-guessing yourself because that is not productive. Just move forward.
