In fact, all 7 billion people on the planet may not be right.
I think one of the keys to creativity is allowing expression to whatever thoughts or ideas you have and been er.. stubborn/arrogant enough to think you have got it right and everyone else may just have gotten it less right or totally wrong.
So, yes, everybody can be wrong. History is littered with examples of such; the great physicist Murray Gell-Mann once proposed a theory and 7 experiments conducted initially proved him wrong, but he stood his ground and over time the truth came out: all the experiments where wrong!! All 7 experiments where wrong, Murray Gell-Mann was right.
As I argued in a previous edition of #TMP, the wise thing is to follow your instincts every time unless of course, your instincts are terrible and in that case take succor in the knowledge that there is safety in the multitude of counsel (I could not suppress laughing out loud at this paragraph, could you?)
No cutting edge work will come out of something 7,000 people agree upon.
No original idea can get 7,000 nods immediately.
Play it safe by looking to the world for approval that what you are working on is legit or change the game by sticking to original ideas you have embedded within. This is the beginning on the path of creativity.
